Canoe/kayak excursion to Valkmusa

SeikkailuviiKari organizes a most enjoyable paddling excursion to Valkmusa National Park. There we go hiking along the duckboard trail of two kilometres, climb up on the bird watching tower, enjoy the view of Valkmusa peatland and have a bite to recharge energy.

We meet at Mari’s Coffee to have a cup of coffee. Next you get your equipment. Then you are transported to Ahvio, the starting point of the excursion. There your guide explains you the safety regulations and teaches you the essentials of canoe handling.

We paddle alond the so called Putkihaara branch from the village of Ahvio to Hirvivuolle in Pyhtää. There are a few fast-flowing streams, steady-flowing waters and beautiful landscapes along this route.

This paddling part finishes above Hirvivuolle dam. From there we walk to Valkmusa National Park, the largest peatland area in southern Finland. We hike on the duckboard trail for a couple of kilometres, enjoy the view of peatland, climb up on the bird watching tower and have a snack.

And then we are transported back to Mari’s Coffee.
