Kymijoki River, the Amazon of Finland, offers a wide range of memorable opportunities for canoeing enthusiasts of all levels. The best way to get started is with a canoeing guide. There are three Viikari canoeing trip options to choose from.
Canoeing route from Ahvio to the Hirvivuolle dam. The length of this route is around 12 kilometres taking about 3.5 hours, of which 2.5 hours is spent on the river. The route runs along the so-called Piuhanhaara branch from the village of Ahvio to Hirvivuolle in Pyhtää. The route includes several points with currents, smooth water, and beautiful scenery. Price of the trip €45/person (min. 6 participants).
Canoeing route from Anjala to Ahvio. The length of this route is around 17 kilometres taking about 4.5 hours, of which 3.5 hours is spent on the river. Combination of the above canoeing routes, in which case it measures 29 kilometres. The duration of the package is about 7 to 7.5 hours, of which 6 hours is spent on the river. Programme description
The programme starts with a gathering and welcome coffee served at restaurant Nostalgia (Elimäentie 54, 46910 Anjala). After distribution of the equipment, there is joint transportation to the starting point of the trip, either Anjala or Ahvio, where the guide will go over the safety instructions and teach you how to handle the canoe. Then it is time to start the trip on the interesting Kymijoki River canoeing route. At the end, there is joint transportation back to restaurant Nostalgia.
Terms
A trip is possible if the following conditions are met:
Trips can be organised from May to October
Trips must be booked no later than 1 day before the desired time
Normal physical fitness and the ability to swim are required of participants
The minimum age for trip participants is 7 years. Consent from a guardian is required for those under age 18
Seikkailuviikari has taken out insurance for the participants
