Sustainability
In 2023, we committed to sustainable tourism and received the Good Travel Seal, a certificate that assesses sustainability and responsibility.
Our slogan "An emotional experience as a sentiment" sums up our mission statement well. We want our customers to enjoy different experiences and nature.
Nature is important to us and we work on nature's terms. We move a lot with physical power and in silence. We rent canoes and kayaks to our clients and encourage them to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. We instruct our clients to camp at official campsites and advise them on litter-free camping and responsible outdoor activities. We follow marked trails and do not disturb birds or other animals in the wild.
We also operate in a national park area, for which we have an agreement with Metsähallitus. SeikkailuviiKari Oy is committed to the principles of sustainable tourism.
On our trips we tell our customers about the history and culture of the area. All our employees have a good knowledge of the area and can tell about local history and culture.
Localism is important to us - both in the sourcing of raw materials and in the hiring of employees. We always buy services and products from local companies. We work closely with other actors in the area and participate in local events whenever possible.
We use long-lasting, durable, timeless and carbon-neutral Kupilka products for our meals. Kupilka products can withstand the bumps and bruises of camping trips and years of hard work.
Good Travel Seal – certificate and program evaluating sustainability and responsibility
SeikkailuviiKari Oy received a sustainable traveling certificate (Good Travel Seal) in June 2023.
Good Travel Seal is awarded to a company committed to forward ecological, social, cultural and economically responsible traveling and fulfilling the certificate criteria.
GTS criteria contains evaluating environmental as well as social and cultural effects.
Certification granted by Green Destinations standard represents the highest possible worldwide acknowledgment of the company’s quality and sustainable travel possession. Green Destinations certification is granted to targets that perfectly fulfill the demands of green destinations standard recognized by Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
Mover from Kouvola
Kymenlaakson Liikunta ry and Kymenlaakson Liitto have named SeikkailuviiKari Oy as the Mover from Kouvola 2013. This acknowledgment has been granted since 2005.
